PPL signs White House Ratepayer Protection Pledge for data center power demand
PPL•PPL backs White House pledge on data center power costs
PPL signed the White House Ratepayer Protection Pledge, backing voluntary principles to shield existing customers as data center demand grows.
The pledge supports cost-allocation rules that require data centers to fund energy infrastructure tied to their load.
PPL pointed to existing customer-protection tariffs in Pennsylvania and Kentucky that aim to prevent cost shifts to other ratepayers.
It also highlighted a joint venture with Blackstone Infrastructure to build generation for new PJM data center demand, targeting reliability and wholesale-price pressure.
