Prairie Lithium Receives Commercial DLE Unit, Secures Binding Hydro Lithium Offtake
SLI•Prairie Lithium’s first commercial direct lithium extraction unit has arrived at its Saskatchewan project, marking a key milestone in Phase One development. Lithium output from Phase One is fully committed to Hydro Lithium under a binding offtake agreement, securing initial revenue and supporting project financing.
1. DLE Unit Delivery
Prairie Lithium has taken delivery of its first commercial direct lithium extraction (DLE) unit at the Clearwater project in Saskatchewan, transitioning from pilot-scale trials to planned commercial operations. The modular system is engineered to process lithium-rich brine and underpin the full throughput of Phase One.
2. Offtake Agreement Details
All lithium produced during Phase One operations is sold under a binding offtake agreement with Hydro Lithium, guaranteeing an initial sales channel. This commitment provides revenue visibility and bolsters the project’s funding framework.
3. Operational Impact and Next Steps
With the DLE unit on site, commissioning and system optimization can commence, aiming for first commercial lithium recovery later this year. Upcoming milestones include performance validation, recovery rate improvements, and scaling to the project’s design capacity.
