NFLX•Meghan in talks for role in Netflix series
LONDON, Aug 21 (Reuters) - Meghan, the wife of Britain's Prince Harry, may be returning to acting with a role in the Netflix NFLX.O series "The Gentlemen," according to media reports on Friday.
The Hollywood Reporter said the duchess was in advanced talks to appear in a third season of the series created by Guy Ritchie. Another Hollywood publication, Deadline, said the discussions were "hypothetical," given that the show has not yet been renewed for a third season. The second season is scheduled to be released next month.
Deadline also said no role has been identified for Meghan, who starred in the U.S. cable TV drama "Suits" from 2011 to 2018. Netflix and a representative for Meghan and Harry declined to comment to Reuters.
Background on the series and Harry's reported return to Britain
The reports follow the surprise news that Harry, who stepped down from official duties in 2020, will return with Meghan and their two children to live in Britain from their current home in California.
Starring Theo James, "The Gentlemen" focuses on a man who unexpectedly inherits his family's country estate, only to discover that it is at the centre of a sprawling cannabis empire and Britain's criminal underworld.
