Princess Cruises Launches 177,800-Ton Star Princess for 20 Alaska Voyages Carrying 90,000 Guests

Princess Cruises will light up Seattle Center with an Alaska-themed drone show on May 1 to debut its 177,800-ton Star Princess, which launches 20 roundtrip Alaska voyages from Seattle on May 3, carrying about 90,000 guests through Sept 13, 2026. The 2026 season features eight ships and 180 departures.

1. Drone Show Kickoff Celebration

Princess Cruises will host a free, Alaska-themed drone show at Seattle Center’s International Fountain Mall on May 1 at 8:30 p.m. to celebrate the arrival of the new Star Princess and engage local audiences ahead of the Alaska season launch.

2. Star Princess Alaska Itinerary

On May 3, Star Princess will embark on its inaugural sailing from Pier 91, initiating 20 roundtrip voyages through Sept 13, 2026. The 177,800-ton vessel accommodates 4,300 guests and will carry approximately 90,000 passengers through iconic ports like Ketchikan, Juneau and Skagway, plus glacier viewing.

3. Expanded Alaska Season Capacity

The 2026 Alaska lineup is Princess Cruises’ largest ever, with eight ships, 180 departures and 19 destinations. Royal Princess will also homeport in Seattle on seven-day Inside Passage sailings, and both ships are already on sale for the 2027 season.
