On May 3, Princess Cruises introduced its next-generation Sphere Class vessel, Star Princess, at Seattle’s Pier 91, marking the start of its inaugural Alaska season. The ship will operate 20 weekly roundtrip voyages through Sept. 13, 2026, navigating the Inside Passage and serving key ports.
2. Ship Specifications and Capacity
Star Princess measures 177,800 tons and can accommodate up to 4,300 guests across its suites, staterooms, dining venues and entertainment spaces. The vessel features advanced navigation systems, luxury accommodations and tailored onboard programming designed for Alaska itineraries.
3. Expanded Alaska Program
The debut of Star Princess aligns with Princess Cruises’ biggest-ever Alaska offering, featuring eight vessels, 180 total departures and 19 destinations for the 2026 and 2027 seasons. This expansion increases seasonal capacity and diversifies route options across the Inside Passage.
4. Community Contributions
As part of its Alaska engagement, Princess Cruises committed $100,000 to rebuild Ketchikan’s American Legion Post 3, $25,000 to whale research in Juneau, $25,000 to childcare expansion in Skagway and $10,000 to trail preservation in Sitka, reinforcing local partnerships.
