Profound Medical says CAPTAIN trial shows TULSA preserves penile length vs robotic prostatectomy at 1 month
PROF•
PROF•Profound Medical released new CAPTAIN randomized trial data comparing its TULSA Procedure with robotic prostate removal in intermediate-risk prostate cancer.
Results were presented earlier today at the Society of Robotic Surgery Annual Meeting.
TULSA showed better short-term preservation of penile length versus surgery, a quality-of-life outcome that can influence treatment choice.
The update follows previously disclosed trial results showing TULSA outperformed robotic surgery on erectile function and urinary continence at six months.
