PSEG Secures 18th Consecutive Best-in-Class Index Spot, Achieves 95% Emissions Cut

PSEG, serving 2.4 million electric and 1.9 million gas customers, was named to the Dow Jones Best-in-Class North America Index for the 18th consecutive year. It cut Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 95% from 2005 and its nuclear units supply over 80% of the state’s carbon-free generation.

1. Dow Jones Best-in-Class Recognition

Public Service Enterprise Group, a predominantly regulated energy infrastructure company in New Jersey, earned a spot on the Dow Jones Best-in-Class North America Index for the 18th straight year, underscoring its long-term commitment to environmental, social and governance practices.

2. Emissions and Carbon-Free Generation

PSEG achieved a 95% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 operational greenhouse gas emissions from its 2005 baseline by retiring older fossil assets, divesting remaining fossil generation and modernizing equipment, while its nuclear plants provide over 80% of the state’s carbon-free electricity.

3. Energy Efficiency and Community Initiatives

The company’s energy efficiency programs help customers save nearly $960 million annually; its PSEG Foundation contributed $12.8 million to local charities in 2025 and launched a Community Relief Initiative granting support to over 25 organizations, contributing $2.4 billion to New Jersey’s economy.

4. Workforce Development and Future Plans

PSEG supports approximately 13,000 employees with safety-first policies, career development and reskilling efforts, its technical school outreach hires graduating seniors on the spot, and the Clean Energy Jobs Program has placed more than 9,300 people into clean energy roles.
