Psyence BioMed partners with Benuvia to make pharmaceutical-grade ibogaine in Texas
PBM•Psyence Biomedical’s Texas unit signed an agreement with Benuvia to manufacture pharmaceutical-grade ibogaine in the United States. Benuvia estimates it holds about half of the U.S. aggregate production quota for ibogaine, while production timing depends on DEA quotas and other regulatory authorizations.
1. Manufacturing agreement
Texas Ibogaine Research Corp, Psyence Biomedical’s Texas unit, signed a manufacturing services agreement with Benuvia to produce pharmaceutical-grade ibogaine active pharmaceutical ingredient in the United States. Benuvia’s 83,000-square-foot Round Rock, Texas, site is DEA-registered for controlled-substance manufacturing, from development through commercial-scale production. The arrangement supports TIRC’s planned U.S. development program, linking licensed ibogaine supply from PsyLabs with domestic cGMP manufacturing capacity.
2. Regulatory approvals
Benuvia is advancing DEA import-permit and procurement-quota applications, and production timing hinges on DEA quotas and other regulatory authorizations. The company estimates it holds about half of the U.S. aggregate production quota for ibogaine, supporting potential domestic output if quotas expand.
