PTC Therapeutics to buy Sangamo’s ST-920 Fabry gene therapy program for $111 million upfront
PTCT•PTC wins bankruptcy auction for Sangamo Fabry gene therapy program
PTC Therapeutics was selected as the winning bidder to acquire Sangamo’s ST-920 Fabry disease gene therapy in a competitive bankruptcy auction.
Deal terms include $111 million upfront, plus up to $100 million in contingent milestone payments tied to certain regulatory approvals.
A rolling BLA submission to the FDA for accelerated approval is expected to be completed in Q4 2026, with a potential commercial launch targeted for 2027.
The transaction is expected to close in late Q3 or early Q4 2026, subject to definitive documentation, court approval, antitrust review and other closing conditions.
PTC said it plans to use its existing rare-disease commercial footprint to support a U.S. launch, while also pursuing approvals outside the U.S.
