Puerto Rico's Popular Q2 profit rises on higher interest income; lifts dividend
BPOP•Outlook raised for 2026
Popular raised its 2026 net interest income growth outlook to 8%–9% from 5%–7%.
The company also lifted non-interest income guidance to $165 million–$170 million per quarter for 2026 and expects loan growth at the low end of its prior 3%–4% range.
Dividend increased and buyback authorized
The company raised its quarterly dividend by 20% and authorized a new $1 billion share buyback.
CEO Javier D. Ferrer is set to retire effective Aug. 31, 2026.
