PureCycle Technologies formed a strategic partnership with RM TOHCELLO, supported by Mitsui, to develop recycled polypropylene for BOPP flexible packaging in Japan.
The partners target a formal commercial agreement in 2027; shipments to Japan are planned after import-regulation compliance.
The collaboration began in Q1 2023 with sample trials of PureFive resin; pilot-scale production runs have been completed.
The project aims to meet high-purity requirements that have limited recycled content use in BOPP film applications.
