Purple Biotech appoints Isaac Israel interim CEO as Gil Efron steps down
PPBT•Purple Biotech appointed director Isaac Israel interim CEO effective Oct. 5, 2026, pending selection of a permanent chief executive. Gil Efron will become executive director and head of corporate development while remaining on the board.
1. Leadership transition
Israel previously served as Purple Biotech’s CEO from October 2012 to July 2022, advised the company from October 2022 and served as acting CEO from March to August 2023. Efron’s new role as executive director and head of corporate development takes effect Oct. 5, 2026.
