Pyxus Q1 FY27 net loss narrows 53.8% to $7.3 million; sales and other operating revenues fall 14% to $437.8 million

Pyxus posted a net loss attributable to shareholders of $7.3 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, narrowing from a $15.8 million loss a year earlier.
Sales and other operating revenues fell 14% to $437.8 million versus the prior-year quarter, on lower average leaf tobacco sales prices in South America and Africa.
Management outlook
Management flagged elevated Southern Hemisphere crops and a “Super” El Niño forecast peaking in fiscal 2027’s third and fourth quarters as key variables.
Profitability and balance sheet
Operating income dropped 25.2% to $15.7 million, while gross profit margin widened 1.1 percentage points to 14%.
Net debt rose to $1.11 billion at June 30, 2026 from $798.6 million at March 31, 2026, while cash and cash equivalents increased to $175.9 million.
