Qantas has seen rebound in demand for Australia-US flights, executive says

Aug. 27 (Reuters) - Qantas Airways QAN.AX has seen a rebound in demand for flights between Australia and the U.S. in both directions and has enough capacity available to absorb the demand, a senior executive said on Thursday.
The airline is "very happy" with the performance of the Australia-U.S. routes in the last six months, Qantas International and Freight CEO Cam Wallace told analysts.
The carrier had reported weaker international results in the first half of the financial year ended June 30 as softness in the Australian dollar drove up the costs of U.S. trips for its home market customers. As a result, the airline reallocated some capacity to other destinations like Singapore and Europe.
