Qiagen adds AI-powered IPA Investigator to Ingenuity Pathway Analysis suite
QGEN•Qiagen added IPA Investigator, an AI-powered tool that lets scientists query datasets in natural language and recommends analyses, runs workflows and surfaces supporting evidence. The company also cited a market forecast of more than $25 billion for AI bioinformatics by 2031, up from about $12 billion in 2026.
1. New research tools
Qiagen expanded its AI-driven bioinformatics tools for research and drug discovery with IPA Investigator for Ingenuity Pathway Analysis. Testing at the University of Bergen found the tool flagged misleading sample comparisons, warned of interpretation risks and suggested improved experimental design.
2. Drug discovery platform
The launch of the QIAGEN Discovery Platform extends AI into automated drug discovery workflows to identify targets and biomarkers and generate hypotheses. Qiagen cited the AI bioinformatics market rising to more than $25 billion by 2031 from about $12 billion in 2026.
