QuadMed, a Quad/Graphics unit, rolled out enhanced text-first patient messaging that blends SMS with an authenticated secure channel for confidential communications.
The system uses SMS for routine tasks such as appointment management, then shifts sensitive conversations to a HIPAA-compliant messaging experience via a secure link.
QuadMed said the program is backed by a security framework that has achieved HITRUST i1 Certification.
The upgrade ties into QuadMed’s AI-enabled care navigation, 24/7 symptom checker, eVisit tools, and electronic health record to support between-visit care.
