Quantum Space Secures DoW OECIF Contract for On-Orbit Fuel Depot Demonstration
IPFX•Quantum Space secured a Department of War OECIF contract for its Ranger fuel depot demonstration enabling routine in-space refueling and extending spacecraft lifetimes. The deal bolsters the planned merger with Inflection Point Acquisition Corp. VI and advances the combined company’s on-orbit logistics platform ahead of its Nasdaq listing.
1. Department of War Fuel Depot Contract
Quantum Space has been awarded a Department of War Operational Energy Capability Improvement Fund contract to demonstrate its orbital fuel depot. This depot, built on the Ranger platform, will enable routine in-space refueling, extend service lives of critical assets and enhance mission flexibility for the U.S. Space Force.
2. Ranger Platform Capabilities
The Ranger spacecraft integrates a patented multimode propulsion system combining chemical and electric thrust using a single fuel type. Its high maneuverability supports operations across geostationary and cislunar orbits, providing modular logistics services and sustained endurance for national security and commercial missions.
3. Merger with Inflection Point Acquisition Corp. VI
Quantum Space recently announced a proposed business combination with Inflection Point Acquisition Corp. VI, aiming to list the merged entity on Nasdaq.
