Permitting target set for early 2028
Rare Element Resources set an early 2028 target to complete federal and Wyoming permitting for its Bear Lodge rare earths project.
The FAST-41 permitting schedule is now published, and the U.S. Forest Service-led NEPA review is set to run through 2027.
Demonstration plant start pushed to late summer 2026
Full end-to-end operations at the Upton, Wyoming separation demonstration plant have been delayed, and the start is now expected in late summer 2026.
The plant is expected to operate for up to 12 months, generating data for a planned commercial-scale rare earth separation facility.
