Raytheon selected to modernize U.S. Space Force early warning radars
RTX•Raytheon was selected on Oct. 15, 2026, to modernize U.S. Space Force early warning radars under the Ground-Based Radar Digitization program.
1. Radar modernization program
The upgrades are intended to improve detection, reliability and long-term performance at radar sites that serve as the outermost layer of U.S. missile defense. Raytheon will deliver prototypes before rapid fielding at remaining locations, using a common open architecture to simplify future upgrades.
