Realtor.com names Sept. 27-Oct. 3 as best week to buy US home in 2026

The market pace is expected to slow to about 64 days on market, roughly 13 days longer than the year’s fastest period.

Realtor.com projected median listing prices to be 3.5% below the seasonal peak, implying about $14,000 in savings on a $416,000 home.

Competition, measured by listing views per property, typically runs 30.1% below the annual peak, supporting stronger negotiating leverage.

The company said active listings are seen 13.3% above an average week, up 31.9% from early-year levels, easing buyer urgency.
