Red Cat Acquires Quaze, Integrates QU6 Wireless Power to Extend Multi-Domain Missions
Red Cat acquired Quaze Technologies, integrating its QU6 wireless power transfer system into Red Cat’s Family of Systems to enable autonomous recharging and extend mission duration across air, land and maritime domains. Quaze will operate independently, offering platform-agnostic charging for Red Cat platforms and third-party OEMs, expanding revenue channels.
1. Acquisition Details
Red Cat completed the acquisition of Québec-based Quaze Technologies, bringing wireless power transfer expertise into its portfolio. Quaze will continue as an independent business unit focused on scaling its technology across Red Cat’s air, land and maritime platforms while maintaining support for third-party OEMs.
2. QU6 Wireless Power Architecture
At the core of the deal is Quaze’s QU6 electronic architecture, which allows large conductive surfaces to act as wireless energy access points without precise alignment or physical connectors. This design reduces failure points in harsh environments and enables uninterrupted power delivery through debris, sand, ice or snow.
3. Strategic and Market Impact
Integrating wireless charging addresses one of the biggest autonomy constraints by extending mission durations and reducing operator burden. The platform-agnostic model opens a new revenue stream from third-party system integrations and supports Red Cat’s expansion into maritime and multi-platform autonomy applications.
