Red Cat Adds Arastelle’s Tethered UAS to Boost Black Widow™ Endurance and ISR
Red Cat has added Arastelle to its Futures Initiative, integrating modular tethered UAS technology with the Black Widow™ platform for persistent ISR and communications via power-supplied tethers. A successful Teal 2 drone demonstration validated extended airborne endurance, and Red Cat will showcase the integrated system at Eurosatory 2026.
1. Partnership Details
On April 7, 2026, Red Cat added Arastelle Drone Solutions to its Futures Initiative, collaborating to integrate Arastelle’s modular tethered UAS technology with Red Cat’s Family of Systems. The integration allows Black Widow™ drones to receive continuous power through the tether, enabling persistent ISR and communications relay without battery swaps.
2. Demonstration Outcome
A recent field test paired Arastelle’s tethered power station with Red Cat’s Teal 2 drone, achieving extended flight endurance beyond standard battery limits and uninterrupted tactical connectivity. The system’s hot-swappable power design demonstrated hours-long airborne operations in austere conditions.
3. Market Implications
The partnership expands Red Cat’s product offering with a novel endurance solution, potentially driving new defense and public safety contracts. Red Cat will showcase the integrated platform at Eurosatory 2026, targeting engagement with international military and security customers.
