ReElement mints first blockchain token for neodymium oxide and hits 99.9% samarium purity
American Resources subsidiary ReElement Technologies minted the world’s first blockchain-based utility token tracking refined neodymium oxide from its Noblesville, Indiana facility in partnership with blockchain firm SAGINT. ReElement also developed commercial protocols to produce samarium with purity greater than 99.9%, meeting magnet-grade and defense specifications via its multi-mineral refining platform.
1. AREC and ReElement Launch World’s First Critical Minerals Utility Token
American Resources Corp, through its subsidiary ReElement Technologies, has partnered with blockchain firm SAGINT to mint the world’s first utility token for critical minerals. The token was created on a private Sui Layer-1 blockchain and is programmed to track refined neodymium oxide produced at ReElement’s Noblesville, Indiana facility. Each token represents one kilogram of neodymium oxide meeting 99.5% minimum purity, verified by in-line spectrometry. This digital traceability platform is designed to reduce supply-chain risk and enhance transparency for downstream magnet and battery manufacturers, positioning AREC to capture value in the growing market for secure rare earth supplies.
2. ReElement Achieves Ultra-High-Purity Samarium Production
ReElement Technologies, in which AREC holds a minority stake, has developed and commercialized protocols to produce samarium with purity exceeding 99.9%, meeting magnet-grade specifications required by defense and advanced industrial customers. The flow-sheet process accepts customer-provided recycled feedstock and outputs samarium-cobalt feedstocks suitable for SmCo magnets. In pilot runs completed this quarter, ReElement delivered over 500 kilograms of ultra-high-purity samarium to one unnamed U.S. defense contractor, demonstrating scalable throughput of 100 kilograms per week. This capability addresses critical supply disruptions and supports growing demand for SmCo materials in high-performance applications.
