The board raised the quarterly common dividend 13% to USD 0.30 and kept a USD 3 billion buyback authorization through Q4 2027.
Credit losses and non-interest income
Provision for credit losses fell to USD 68 million from USD 126 million, while net charge-offs eased to USD 102 million, or 0.42% of average loans.
Non-interest income slipped to USD 630 million from USD 646 million on securities repositioning losses and lower mortgage income.
Quarterly earnings and margin improve
Regions Financial reported Q2 net income available to common shareholders of USD 549 million, or USD 0.64 per diluted share, up from USD 534 million, or USD 0.59.
Net interest income on a taxable-equivalent basis rose to USD 1.3 billion, with net interest margin edging up 1 basis point to 3.66%.
