Republic Services releases 2025 sustainability report

Community grants reached 653 communities, and volunteerism and giving benefited 5.7 million people, bringing total impact since 2017 to 25 million.

Total fleet emissions were down 37% from a 2017 baseline, and the company said it has more than 180 electric collection trucks in service.

Nine renewable natural gas projects were brought online at landfills. The company’s climate target calls for a 35% cut in absolute Scope 1 and 2 emissions.

Republic Services issued its 2025 sustainability report, emphasizing safety, workforce development, fleet decarbonization, renewable energy, plastics circularity and community investment.

Employee engagement score reached 87, 2,335 leaders were trained and the company reported its lowest turnover rate on record.
