Q2 profit and revenue climb
Restaurant Brands International posted Q2 GAAP net income from continuing operations of $665 million, more than doubled from a year earlier; diluted EPS rose to $1.45.
GAAP operating income climbed 48.4% to $716 million; GAAP revenue increased 4.56% to $2.52 billion.
Sales trends across the system
System-wide sales growth was 6.4% year-over-year, with comparable sales up 3.8%; International system-wide sales growth ran 10.7%.
Burger King comparable sales rose 8.6%, including 8.5% in the U.S.; Popeyes comparable sales fell 5.1%.
