Rhode Island Energy restores power to nearly 30,000 customers after storm, fewer than 1,000 remain out
PPL•Rhode Island Energy restored power to nearly 30,000 of more than 31,000 customers affected by an overnight storm, with fewer than 1,000 still without electricity as of 3:45 p.m.
1. Restoration efforts continue
More than 270 crew members were deployed statewide, where saturated ground, downed trees and damaged lines complicated repairs. Elevated wind gusts were expected through Sunday morning, with calmer weather forecast for Monday.
