Rio Tinto FY26 H1 net earnings climb 47% to US$6.66 billion; revenue rises 15% to US$31.03 billion

- Rio Tinto posted IFRS profit after tax attributable to owners of USD 6.66 billion, up 47% year-on-year, on revenue of USD 31.03 billion, up 15%.
- Underlying EBITDA (non-IFRS) rose 28% to USD 14.83 billion; free cash flow (non-IFRS) climbed 75% to USD 3.83 billion.
- Interim ordinary dividend increased 43% to USD 3.4 billion, equal to 211 US cents per share, with a 50% interim payout ratio.
- Net debt (non-IFRS) edged down 2% to USD 14.06 billion; operating cash flow rose 32% to USD 9.17 billion.
- CEO Simon Trott said first-half performance marked a “step-change,” citing USD 870 million of productivity benefits banked and a USD 1.8 billion annualized run-rate target by year-end.
