RLI Q2 FY26 net earnings climb to $168.03 million; revenue rises 15.15% to $575.57 million

RLI returned $184 million to shareholders via a $2.00 per-share special dividend and raised the regular quarterly dividend to $0.18 per share.

Underwriting income slipped to $59.91 million from $62.23 million, with the combined ratio worsening 1.1 percentage points to 85.6.

Net premiums earned increased 3.78% to $417.1 million, driven primarily by products in the casualty segment.

RLI posted Q2 net earnings of $168.03 million, up 35.13% from a year earlier, as net investment income climbed 16.8% to $46.04 million.

Total revenue rose to $575.57 million from $499.83 million, lifted by $103.02 million of unrealized gains on equity securities.
