Robinhood Launches Arbitrum-Based Robinhood Chain for Tokenizing Real-World Assets
HOOD•Robinhood Markets launched Robinhood Chain, a Layer 2 blockchain built on the Arbitrum Platform with integrations to Alchemy, BitGo and Chainlink to natively connect on-chain users. The public mainnet is purpose-built for tokenizing real-world assets under institutional standards, aiming to onboard securities and commodities.
1. Public Mainnet Launch
On July 1, Robinhood Markets deployed the public mainnet of Robinhood Chain, marking the company’s first proprietary blockchain. The launch transitions the network from testnet to live operations and makes on-chain deposit and withdrawal tools available to users.
2. Layer 2 Architecture and Integrations
Robinhood Chain is built on the Arbitrum Platform to leverage proven scaling and security. It includes deep integrations with Alchemy for developer tooling, BitGo for custodial services and Chainlink for real-world data oracles, positioning it for regulated asset issuance.
3. Strategic and Market Impact
The blockchain is designed to accelerate tokenization of stocks, bonds and other real-world assets under institutional standards. By offering a native on-ramp and standards-compliant infrastructure, Robinhood aims to capture new revenue streams and compete in blockchain-based securities settlement.
