Rocket Lab Shares Rise 1% on Synspective Mission and NASA’s Three Launch Awards
RKLB•Rocket Lab’s Electron is back on the pad in New Zealand for the delayed “Ten Owl Of Ten” mission, marking its 90th flight and tenth dedicated launch for Synspective. NASA also awarded Rocket Lab three Electron launches across the PolSIR and TSIS-2 missions, scheduled to begin in early 2027.
1. Synspective Mission Resumption
Electron is on pad at Launch Complex 1 in New Zealand, ready for the delayed Ten Owl Of Ten mission, with a window opening June 26 at 12:45 p.m. ET following last week’s pre-flight checkouts. The mission will deploy a StriX SAR satellite into a 552 km low-Earth orbit, marking Electron’s 90th flight and Rocket Lab’s tenth dedicated Synspective launch.
2. NASA Awards Three Electron Launches
NASA selected Rocket Lab for three Electron launches across PolSIR and TSIS-2, with two back-to-back PolSIR lifts no earlier than June 2027 and one TSIS-2 mission in early 2027, citing precise deployment record and turnaround capabilities.
3. Stock Reaction
Shares rose 1% overnight after the pad update and NASA award, offsetting a 6% drop on Thursday and limiting what was poised to be the worst weekly decline in the stock’s history.
4. Future Mission Pipeline
Rocket Lab retains 17 Synspective missions under contract through 2030 and continues to emphasize responsive-space credentials after its Pioneer spacecraft launch for the U.S. Space Force’s Victus Haze mission achieved a record 16-hour turnaround.
