Rockwell report finds only 23% of manufacturers fully integrate MES across enterprise systems

Rockwell Automation published an industry report on scaling manufacturing execution systems, based on a survey of 1,560 operations decision-makers in 17 countries.

• 93% of manufacturers report having MES, but only 28% have deployed it enterprise-wide; 23% report full integration across ERP, PLM, quality, and OT.
• Integration ranks as the top MES buying requirement for 44% of respondents; 33% cite MES as their biggest data-integration problem.
• AI expectations are rising, with respondents projecting 42% of processes to be AI-supported within a year, but 43% say they do not use collected data effectively.
• Cyber risk is shaping buying decisions, with 46% reporting a cyber incident in the past year; 43% cite security and compliance as a key MES requirement.
