Rogers signed an agreement to acquire the remaining 25% stake in Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment from Kilmer Sports for C$4.35 billion, increasing its ownership to 100%. This move consolidates Rogers’ position in a portfolio that includes the Toronto Maple Leafs and Raptors.
Full ownership allows Rogers to integrate MLSE with its broader sports and media assets—including the Toronto Blue Jays, Rogers Centre and Sportsnet—to enhance fan experiences, drive content distribution and leverage cross-platform promotion.
The transaction will be funded from Rogers’ committed liquidity, and the company plans to divest a minority stake in its combined sports, media and entertainment business over the next year to optimize capital structure.
The deal is subject to league and regulatory approvals and is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, pending customary conditions and approval timelines.
