Expanded partnership for Type 26 propulsion packages
Rolls-Royce expanded its partnership with Marand into an export venture to supply naval gas turbine propulsion packages for the Type 26 program.
Marand will build three additional gas turbine acoustic enclosures and ship interface systems at its Melbourne facility for delivery to Rolls-Royce.
The work follows a competitive international tender, extending Marand’s existing supply role on Australia’s Hunter-class frigate program.
Rolls-Royce will supply MT30 gas turbines under both contracts, with propulsion packages ultimately delivered to BAE Systems Australia for the Hunter-class program.
