The project is expected to produce about 1.8 GWh a year once completed, targeting 100% of main office electricity use, 44% at the wastewater plant, and 64% at the natural treatment system.
The natural treatment system includes floating solar, which is intended to add generation without acquiring new land.
Funding includes Oregon energy grants, Oregon DEQ revolving-fund financing, utility incentives, and federal investment tax credits, with the goal of limiting ratepayer costs.
Oregon award recognizes Ameresco-backed resilience program
Roseburg Urban Sanitary Authority won two 2026 “Best of the Best” awards from Oregon ACWA for an Ameresco-backed renewable energy and resilience program.
The plan combines solar PV with battery storage at the main office, with additional solar projects slated for the wastewater plant and natural treatment system.
