Ross Stores posted fiscal Q2 sales of $6.27 billion, up 13%, with comparable-store sales rising 10%.
Net earnings climbed 68% to $851 million, lifting diluted EPS to $2.66; results included a $0.60-per-share benefit from IEEPA tariff refunds.
Margins widen as traffic and basket improve
Operating income more than doubled to $1.1 billion, with operating margin widening 6.1 percentage points to 17.6%.
Traffic rose about 7% while basket increased about 3%, supporting the comparable-sales gain.
Store openings accelerate and full-year plan rises
Store expansion accelerated with 47 openings in the quarter; the company lifted its full-year plan to about 115 new stores.
