Royal Caribbean Reveals 28-Venue Icon Class Ship Launching August 2027
Royal Caribbean will debut Hero of the Seas, its fourth Icon Class ship, in Miami in August 2027 featuring nine pools—the most at sea—and 28 dining venues. The vessel includes new family raft slides and a three-story Ultimate Family Treehouse, with Crown & Anchor members booking from April 1.
1. Hero of the Seas Features
The fourth Icon Class ship, Hero of the Seas, will feature nine pools—the most at sea—record-breaking 28 dining venues and new family raft slides. It also introduces multigenerational accommodations such as the three-story Ultimate Family Treehouse with private whirlpool and separate teen space.
2. Booking and Delivery Timeline
Royal Caribbean will homeport the vessel in Miami beginning August 2027, with Crown & Anchor loyalty members able to book starting April 1 and general bookings opening on April 2. Public reservations will follow once loyalty member bookings are processed.
3. Financial and Strategic Implications
Adding Hero of the Seas expands fleet capacity and targets the premium family cruise segment, supporting long-term revenue growth. The advanced amenities aim to capture growing multigenerational demand but require substantial capital expenditure ahead of deployment.
