Raytheon invested $800 million to upgrade radar manufacturing, targeting a doubling of SPY-6 output by 2028.
SPY-6 is expected to be deployed on more than 50 U.S. Navy ships over the next decade.
First SPY-6(V)4 array installed at Wallops Island
RTX’s Raytheon delivered and installed the first SPY-6(V)4 radar array at the Wallops Island land-based test site.
Testing will validate radar performance plus power and combat-system interfaces before shipboard installation on USS Pinckney (DDG 91).
