RTX Secures €193M German Specter DR Sights Contract
RTX secured a major contract to supply customized Specter® DR sights to the German Armed Forces, part of Europe-wide orders exceeding €193 million since August 2024. With over 100,000 units ordered by six European militaries, RTX’s 7.9% weighting in the Global X Defense ETF may drive higher ETF returns.
1. German Armed Forces Contract Details
RTX’s Raytheon ELCAN division will provide customized Specter® DR sights for the German Armed Forces, featuring integrated Aimpoint® reflex sights to meet specific operational requirements.
2. Europe-wide Order Value and Volume
This agreement contributes to Europe-wide orders exceeding €193 million since August 2024, with over 100,000 Specter® DR units ordered by Germany, Denmark, Lithuania, Spain, Italy and Finland.
3. ETF Performance Implications
RTX represents 7.86% of the Global X Defense ETF, so this substantial contract is poised to strengthen the ETF’s returns through enhanced defense sector revenue exposure.
