RTX’s Raytheon, CET demonstrate HADALUS unmanned undersea vehicle launch capability

RTX’s Raytheon unit, working with Composite Energy Technologies, demonstrated submerged undersea launch capability for the HADALUS unmanned undersea vehicle.

• The test, during a U.S. Navy exercise, marked the first integrated in-water demo of this capability, supporting detect-to-engage missions from one platform.
• HADALUS is designed to target lower cost, priced at roughly one-third to one-fifth of comparable long-endurance vehicles.
• The prototype advanced from concept to in-water demonstration in under 18 months, using company-funded design, integration, and full system testing.
• Vehicle specifications include a 34-foot length, a 6-foot cross section, and more than 2,000 nautical miles of endurance, using an all-carbon-fiber exoskeleton.
