Russia resumes diesel export loadings, data show
USO•Russia resumed diesel export loadings from the Baltic port of Primorsk, with a tanker carrying about 40,000 metric tons loaded on October 13 and heading to Morocco. Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said exports could rise to 3 million to 3.5 million tons per month by year-end.
1. Loadings resume
Russia has resumed diesel export loadings from Primorsk following an agreement between Washington and Moscow to supply fuel to global markets. Shipping data show a tanker carrying around 40,000 metric tons of ultra-low sulphur diesel was loaded on October 13 and is heading to Morocco.
2. Exports may increase
Last week, U.S. President Donald Trump said Russia had agreed to supply diesel to global markets to help lower fuel prices, and his administration temporarily lifted U.S. sanctions on Russian fuel. Russia partially lifted its diesel export ban from October 10. Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said on Monday that exports could increase to 3 million to 3.5 million tons per month by year-end, Russia’s usual export volume.
