The Saratov region is home to a large oil refinery run by state oil company Rosneft and a number of other industrial and military facilities. Two people were injured in a missile attack that hit two residential buildings and damaged an industrial facility in Volgograd, which is south of Saratov and also located on the Volga River, local authorities said on Telegram, without giving details of the industrial facility. The Volgograd oil refinery run by energy company Lukoil is located on the outskirts of the city. The governor of Russia's Perm region in the Ural Mountains said two industrial facilities had been attacked by drones. Reuters could not immediately verify the reports. Both of the two latest deaths in Kyiv were at one of the two petrol stations that was attacked, officials said, and a rescue worker was among those injured in a double-tap strike on one of them, emergency services said. Friday's jet-powered drone strikes followed what appeared to be the first attack on a Kyiv petrol station a day earlier. "There is no military objective behind such strikes. This is terror of the civilian population," said Bohdan Kukura, CEO of Ukrainian oil company Ukrnafta. A woman was killed in the region surrounding the Ukrainian capital, the regional governor said. Dmitry Milyayev, the governor of Russia's Tula region, said two people had been killed and three injured in Ukrainian drone attacks overnight. Russian e-commerce company Ozon said on Telegram a drone attack had caused a fire at its logistics hub in the central Volga River city of Saratov. Ukrainian drones also damaged civilian infrastructure, regional governor Roman Busargin said on Telegram, adding that there were no casualties. Over two dozen warehouses owned by Ozon and fellow online retailer Wildberries have been hit in recent attacks which Kyiv casts as part of a campaign against economic infrastructure underpinning Russia's war in Ukraine. Both sides deny deliberately targeting civilians in the war, triggered by Russia's full-scale invasion in February 2022. Russia resumed almost constant waves of attack on Kyiv and its suburbs with jet-powered drones this week after a short respite for a visit by U.S. peace negotiators Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. Witkoff and Kushner, who also met Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow at the weekend, said there was new momentum in peace efforts, but both sides have pressed on with attacks in the more than 4-1/2-year-old war as another winter approaches. Moscow and Kyiv have in recent weeks traded escalating strikes on logistics and other economic targets aimed at damaging each other's war effort. A Ukrainian drone strike killed two people in Russia's Tula region and a Russian attack on petrol stations in Kyiv killed two in overnight fighting that stretched into Friday. Eight others were injured in the drone strikes on petrol stations in the Ukrainian capital early on Friday, Mayor Vitali Klitschko said. The attacks followed an overnight strike on a Kyiv residential block that injured another eight people.
