Samsara Expands Canada Operations with AWS Data Centre and 15% ACV Growth

IOTIOT

Samsara is expanding Canadian operations with a dedicated AWS Canada data centre, domestic fulfillment partnerships, and localized AI safety tools, as international markets generated over 15% of its net new annual contract value in Q3. Samsara will release Q4 fiscal 2026 results on March 5 via webcast.

1. Canadian Operations Expansion and Data Localization

Samsara has committed to a multi-million-dollar investment in Canada, highlighted by the launch of a dedicated AWS Canada data centre in Toronto. This facility enables public sector bodies, Crown corporations and regulated industries to store and process operational data entirely within national borders. Early adopters include First Student, which is deploying Samsara’s AI-driven telematics and safety solution across approximately 46,000 vehicles in Canada and the U.S. The local infrastructure launch follows strong customer momentum in Q3, when over 15% of Samsara’s net new annual contract value originated from international markets, underscoring product-market fit in complex regional environments.

2. Domestic Fulfillment and Logistics Partnerships

To reduce lead times and eliminate import fees, Samsara forged a strategic agreement with Ottawa Logistics, creating a domestic fulfillment network that delivers hardware to Canadian customers on the same day. This partnership has cut average order-to-delivery cycles by more than 60%, enabling fleets to deploy telematics devices within 24 hours of order confirmation. Additionally, Samsara’s collaboration with Element Fleet Management integrates real-time asset tracking and lifecycle services, helping Canadian enterprises lower total cost of ownership by up to 20% through streamlined procurement, maintenance scheduling and driver safety programs.

3. Advanced AI Safety and Connectivity for Remote Fleets

Responding to the challenges of winter weather and sparse coverage in Northern regions, Samsara expanded its AI-powered safety platform with Weather Intelligence overlays—providing real-time road condition alerts on the operational map—and Proactive Coaching tools that automatically prioritize high-risk events for managerial review. The new One-Click SOS feature and proactive safety check-ins enhance worker protection in both field and in-cab scenarios. To secure continuous monitoring beyond cellular networks, the company also rolled out Satellite Connectivity options, ensuring uninterrupted visibility for fleets operating in Canada’s most remote territories.
