Samsung Electronics partners with Tencent, Woori Bank for wallet payments in China
Samsung Electronics signed an agreement with Tencent and Woori Bank to let Korean Samsung Wallet users pay at WeChat Pay merchants across China by QR code. Payments have no overseas transaction fees, and offline purchases earn 0.3% in Samsung Wallet Points with no cap.
1. QR payments in China
The partners signed the agreement on Oct. 26, 2026. Samsung Wallet Money users in Korea can use QR codes to pay at WeChat Pay merchants across China, with no overseas transaction fees; offline purchases earn 0.3% in Samsung Wallet Points with no rewards cap. The partners plan to extend QR payments to credit cards in China in the first quarter of 2027. Samsung Wallet Money is also introducing NFC contactless payments in China and other overseas markets.
