SmartBiz Expo 2026 opened Oct. 13 at COEX in Seoul and runs through Oct. 16, with 53 companies showcasing manufacturing technologies, including AI-driven factory automation, process control and quality inspection.

Backed by Samsung’s Smart Factory 4.0 program, the expo highlighted a shift from digitalization to AI adoption among small manufacturers, with phased AI deployment aimed at addressing bottlenecks. A new AI zone featured factory automation, AI-driven process control and AI-based quality inspection use cases.
