Health Canada clears Sandoz Canada’s generic semaglutide
Novartis unit Sandoz Canada won Health Canada clearance for (Pr)Sandoz Semaglutide, a generic version of Novo Nordisk’s Ozempic.
The label covers once-weekly treatment of type 2 diabetes in adults to improve glycemic control alongside lifestyle measures or other antidiabetic drugs.
Authorization spans 0.25 mg, 0.5 mg, and 1 mg subcutaneous doses via two prefilled pen presentations.
Sandoz Canada is preparing for a future commercial launch, targeting improved access amid rising Canadian demand for semaglutide pens.
