Sanofi broke ground on a 36,000-square-meter insulin manufacturing facility in Frankfurt, with full production of insulin active pharmaceutical ingredients planned for 2032, subject to licensing.

1. Facility plans

The facility at Sanofi’s BioCampus in Frankfurt will use automation, digital technologies and artificial intelligence. European Commission clearance in September 2026 allows public support from Germany’s federal government, Hesse and Frankfurt.
