CEO says R&D spending will rise moderately in the mid term
Sanofi CEO Belen Garijo says the company expects to have moderate increases in research and development spend in the mid term, according to an analyst call.
Garijo said, "We have to catch up and benefit from the wave of innovation that is emerging in China."
She said the company's strategy in China may not be completely mirroring Sanofi's global strategy.
Garijo also said the Regeneron partnership is not a barrier to moving forward with M&A.
A Sanofi executive said the company expects the Dupixent patent to be protected beyond March 2031, according to the analyst call.
