SAP research finds AI adoption outpaces workforce readiness at midsize companies
SAP•SAP-sponsored research surveying 2,015 midsize-company executives found AI adoption outpacing workforce readiness. Only 47% of midsize-company operations leaders reported measurable value from AI investment, compared with 62% at companies with revenue above US$1 billion.
1. Readiness lags adoption
The research found that 66% of finance chiefs and 59% of operations leaders said AI adoption was outpacing workforce transformation. Only 4% of operations leaders reported fully integrated AI adoption and workforce transformation initiatives, while 54% of HR chiefs said workforce skills were the area least prepared for AI transformation.
