Prior to the transactions, Ares ARES.N held about 117.4 million shares, roughly 76% of SVV's 154.3 million shares outstanding, according to the prospectus.
JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs, Jefferies and UBS are joint lead bookrunners for the offering.
At Tuesday's close, SVV stock had risen 59% over the past three months, putting it up 26% year to date.
Eight of 11 analysts rate the stock "strong buy" or "buy," three rate it "hold"; the median price target is $14.50, according to LSEG data.
Shares fall after upsized secondary offering is priced
Thrift operator Savers Value Village's SVV.N shares were down 12% at $10.39 before the bell on Wednesday after the $205 million secondary offering was priced.
Bellevue, Washington-based SVV late Tuesday announced 20 million shares offloaded by Ares Management ARES.N at $10.25.
The offering size was boosted from 15 million shares and priced at a 13.1% discount to the last close.
SVV will buy $10 million of offering shares from the underwriters.
